CommercialAutoInsurance.net is an independent information site published by Cowan Services LLC, a Virginia company with a background in public-records data and property valuation.

Commercial auto and trucking insurance is confusing and expensive, and most of what's online is either a carrier brochure or a thin page built to collect your phone number. We try to do better: explain the rules in plain English, cite where they come from, and build free tools on public data — like our DOT/MC insurance lookup, which reads FMCSA's own licensing and insurance records.

What we are — and aren't

• We are not an insurance company, agency or broker. We don't sell, quote, bind or service policies.
• When you request quotes, we pass your request to one participating licensed agency that writes commercial auto in your state.

Federal requirements are drawn from 49 CFR Part 387 and FMCSA guidance; carrier data comes from FMCSA datasets on data.transportation.gov; state minimums from state statutes and insurance departments.
